The Turkish baths are known locally as "hamam", and its traditions stretch far back into history. Like the Roman baths of old, the baths are a social occassion where friend meet to chat and relax. In fact it is an integral part of the Turkish culture and certain celebrations revolve around the baths. It is a rare pleasure which you can experience right here in Marmaris! In the "hamam", you will enter an exquisite atmosphere, which will refresh your body and soothe your soul. The "tellak" will take care of you: give you a good rubbing down and soap massage. All you have to do is walk into the marble chamber and relax as you lie down on "gobek tasi" (belly stone).
